We travel downtown in an Uber (almost sideswiped by a delivery truck) in Wilmington, Delaware to Blitzen, a pop up bar with a Christmas theme on 9th Street.
Wilmington has been stepping it up in the nightlife department with the opening of Torbert St Social Club and Makers Alley and this is a fun new pop up this year.
Tinsel in Philadelphia was hugely popular last year and Blitzen is absolutely adorable. The only thing that would have made it a better experience? Presentation of the cocktails. Tinsel offers a snow globe cocktail and I was hoping for something similar. Not complaining about the actual cocktails – while a tad pricey – they were strong and delicious!
The decor was amazing, lots of cozy nooks to sit and chat and an active, fun bar.
We’ll definitely be back!
