Xiaomi 14 Civi arrives in India with SD 8s Gen 3, quad-curved display and dual selfie cameras

Xiaomi had been counting down the days to the launch of its camera-focused Civi phone and it has finally reached zero. The Xiaomi 14 Civi brings India’s first quad-curve display with GG Victus 2 along with near flagship performance from the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.

Like other Civi models, this one features a dual selfie camera with a pair of 32MP sensors, one behind a wide lens (78°, 26mm), the other behind an ultra wide (100°, 18mm). They can record 4K video at 30fps, do slow motion selfies and there is even a teleprompter mode for vloggers.

The rear cameras are no less impressive with Leica Vario-Summilux lenses. The main camera has a 50MP “Light Fusion 800” image sensor (1.0µm pixels) with a bright f/1.63 lens with 25mm focal length and OIS.

Next to it is a 50MP portrait camera with a 50mm lens (2x) and an f/1.98 aperture. No OIS on this one, though. Finally, a 12MP ultra wide with 120° FoV (15mm) and an f/2.2 lens.

Image processing is handled by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3’s triple 18-bit ISP and Xiaomi’s new “AISP” (AI + ISP). The image processing includes a variety of Leica-inspired styles and filters, including LUTs.

The chipset is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage and is kept cool by a vapor chamber. It’s not alone, though. The in-house Xiaomi Pascal T1 chip helps with networking – it promises things like 16% improvements in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth performance, 37% in cellular performance and 24% in GPS performance.

The Xiaomi 14 Civi is powered by a 4,700mAh battery that should retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles. It supports 67W wired-only charging.

Let’s return to the display as the dual-selfie camera isn’t the only interesting thing here. This is a premium OLED display measuring 6.55” in size with curves on all four sides and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 to keep it safe.

The display is an LTPO panel with 1-120Hz refresh rate and 12-bit colors (HDR10+, Dolby Vision). It has a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, which is reined it with DC dimming and 2,160Hz high frequency PWM.

The audio-visual experience is rounded off by the stereo speakers located on the top and bottom of the phone. They have Dolby Atmos support, of course.

The phone has a premium build with a metal frame, which is 7.45mm thick for the Shadow Black and Cruise Blue colorways and 7.75mm for the Matcha Green one. The latter has a faux leather back that is more wear and tear resistant than the regular stuff.

A few other things worth mentioning are the NFC and IR blaster, the dual SIM slot (no microSD) and an in-display fingerprint reader.

The base 8/256GB configuration sells for ₹43,000, while the 12/512GB option is ₹48,000. Note that you can get a ₹3,000 exchange bonus or a ₹3,000 discount with an ICICI Bank credit or debit card. You can also opt for ₹2,389 monthly payments, if you want to go the EMI route.

The first sale will be on June 20, but you may want to grab one earlier – you will receive a free Redmi Watch 3 Active, which is normally ₹3,000.

P.S. If you thought these specs look familiar, this is indeed a global version of the Xiaomi 14 Pro, which was announced in China this March and smashed the sales record of its predecessor.
