PINEY POINT, Md. – Earlier this afternoon, June 25, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in the Potomac River near the 46000 block of River Run Lane. An 80-year-old female was pulled from the water after an apparent accidental drowning.
Emergency responders provided CPR on the scene, following instructions relayed by a dispatcher over the phone. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where she is currently receiving ongoing medical care.
Authorities have yet to release further details on the incident. Residents and visitors to the area are reminded to exercise caution around the water.
