The Blair Witch Project: a 1999 psychological/supernatural horror film

The Blair Witch Project is a horror movie from 1999 starring Heather Donahue, Michael C. Williams and Joshua Leonard, and directed by Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez.

It not only introduced the “found footage” genre of horror to the world, it fooled many people into believing that the story of three film students disappearing in the woods of Maryland was true.

As I mention in the video, people either love this movie or hate it. For those who aren’t a fan, they say it’s slow and boring.

For people like me, who like the film 😉 we believe that it is more about what you DON’T see that unsettles us. In my view, it is also iconic for introducing viewers to a new style of filmmaking: handheld camera and found footage combination.

It doesn’t rely on in-your-face jump scares: rather, it builds up a story of realistic situations that makes you come to the conclusion for yourself if it’s paranormal or something more human behind the sinister actions.

If you have not seen the film, I strongly encourage you to do so with an open mind.

Thank you for watching!
