A Catonsville High School student was shot Tuesday afternoon outside the school, Baltimore County Police Chief Melissa Hyatt said.The student was taken to a trauma center; their condition was not immediately released.The reports came in around after 3 p.m., which is about 45 minutes after the school’s dismissal time. Members of the school’s lacrosse team who witnessed what transpired told 11 News they heard several shots and saw a car speeding out of the parking lot.Out of an abundance of caution, Hyatt said officers went into the school and cleared the building to ensure there were no threats.”We will make an arrest in this case, it’s just going to take some time,” Hyatt said.Catonsville High School students told 11 News they were put on lockdown after school following reports of a shooting outside. By the 4 p.m. hour, the students were being released to their parents. We also want to thank Catonsville High School administration and the staff and the Baltimore County police. We are looking at supports for students — additional counselors, additional supports,” Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent Darryl Williams said.”It’s devastating to hear news of yet another school shooting — this time at Catonsville High School.
