I enjoy living in Colorado because you can ski, and ride your bike, all in the same day. Sometimes you bring the wrong equipment, but fun is always had.
After filming last week’s episode, James Weingarten and I went back out to Maryland Mountain in Black Hawk, Colorado to try and get some better lines dialed in on Ore Chute. We heard there was a bit of snow, but we were undeterred in our mission. We did a little warm up lap on Claim Jumper before venturing into more challenging terrain. Ore Chute is spicy in the dry so I found these shenanigans highly amusing, and thought I would share the ridiculousness with all of you. This is further evidence that James is indeed an alien and that rock slabs are slippery when your tires are covered with snow and kitty litter. Despite riding far less of Ore Chute than I did on my first run, I am still calling this a win. Certainly this trail is currently snowed in for the season, so if you do venture up there, maybe consider bringing your ski gear instead if your bicycle. Never a dull moment.
