New Italian restaurant in Fells Point to add lunch, brunch menus

Prima Dopo, an Italian restaurant that opened in Fells Point last month and previously drew opposition from neighbors, has plans to keep growing with an expanded dinner menu and other new offerings.The restaurant opened in December with a “soft-opening menu” that owner Dominic Lascola said will be expanded for its grand opening week Feb. 6-11. He also revealed plans to add lunch in mid-March and brunch by mid-April.The opening of Prima Dopo in a historic building at 1724 Thames St. follows controversy that arose last year when neighbors in the Fells Point community pushed back on the restaurant’s proposal to add a rooftop deck. The third-story deck was later dropped from the plans. The restaurant saw a win in April, however, when it received approval from the city’s zoning board to use part of an attached property as a dining room with extra seating, despite some opposition from neighbors.Now, the restaurant is open with 135 seats and offers a contemporary take on Italian cuisine.
