MM 7.19: Former Maryland women’s basketball player Vicky Bullett to join DC Sports Hall of Fame


Vicky Bullett, a legend in College Park and former Maryland women’s basketball player, will be inducted into the DC Sports Hall of Fame on July 21 at Nationals Park.

Bullett is among nine individuals being honored in this year’s class.

During her time with the Terps from 1986 to 1989, Bullett became the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,928 points and leading rebounder with 968. Her impressive 21.4 points per game during her senior season remains a Maryland single-season record. She was named ACC Player of the Year in 1989.

Bullett also competed on the U.S. Olympic Team in 1988 and 1992, winning gold and bronze medals, respectively. She was drafted by the Washington Mystics in 1997 and became a WNBA All-Star in 1999. Bullett was inducted into the Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Mystics Hall of Fame in 2022.
