
SEVERN, Md. — Anne Arundel County Police responded to a reported armed robbery in Severn on June 16, 2024, around 9:50 a.m. The incident happened near the intersection of Stillmeadows Drive and Jacobs Road.
The initial investigation revealed that a group of male juveniles attempted to rob a 59-year-old man at gunpoint. A witness’s shout scared the suspects off. The police quickly apprehended them, but they did not recover the handgun.
Three local juveniles, two 13-year-olds, and a 12-year-old were arrested and charged. Their identities are withheld due to their minor status.
Detectives are investigating possible connections between this incident and another attempted robbery that occurred on June 15 around noon. The earlier incident happened in the 8200 block of Averill Court in Severn. The victim, a 47-year-old male seated in his vehicle, was approached by several teenage males. One of them pointed a handgun at him and demanded cash. The victim quickly drove away, and the suspects fled.
