You know, I, I hate to say what I’m gonna say next because, you know, you’re so enthusiastic and with so much energy and hope and I feel it. But while you’ve been in this room, I don’t know whether you’ve been on your phones. But, um, we just learned about another shooting in Tennessee, *** school shooting and I am truly without words and our Children deserve better and we stand all of us, we stand with Nashville in prayer.

First Lady Jill Biden spoke about the shooting at an elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee earlier today during her speech at the National League of Cities’ Congressional City Conference in Washington, D.C.Biden addressed the audience, saying, “I hate to say what I’m going to say next, because, you’re so enthusiastic, and with so much energy and hope, and I feel it. But while you’ve been in this room, I don’t know whether you’ve been on your phones, but we just learned about another shooting in Tennessee. A school shooting. And I am truly without words. And our children deserve better.”The guests in attendance applauded Biden’s words.”And we stand, all of us, we stand with Nashville in prayer,” Biden said.Find more coverage of the shooting in Nashville, Tennesee below:The shooting happened around 10 a.m. Monday morning after a 28-year-old female shooter with two “assault-style” rifles and a pistol killed three students and three adults at The Covenant School, a private Christian school in Nashville. The suspect also died after being shot by police.
