A family’s packed moving truck was stolen. They’re pleading to get their loved one’s ashes back



Gabrielle volt and her four kids packed their entire lives into *** U. Haul, preparing for *** move from downtown Denver to Westminster. We were trying to be polite neighbors and not moving in the middle of the night, spending one last night in their old apartment friday. They parked the 20 ft U. Haul outside, we came back and checked at 11 o’clock at night and by at five o’clock in the morning it was gone. The family realized they’d lost all their furniture, clothes and possessions. Everything that we have on now is all we have left, but something far more valuable was taken. It was my husband’s ashes. It was my mom’s ashes. It was our first family pets ashes, all of the love letters that my husband wrote me, All of the pictures he ever drew for our kids. Gabriel’s husband, her kid’s father passed away in 2017. They took the very last thing that we had of him. Her mom passed two years ago and the family pet passed last year. We had *** beautiful urn and memorabilia set up for her and they took that too. Gabrielle reported the theft to police. They’re trying the best they can with *** U. Haul that doesn’t have *** gPS in it now she’s begging the thief to leave her family’s remains inside the U. Haul and abandon it somewhere you can take all the valuable stuff. But I just hope they see the sentimental stuff and they just leave it

A Colorado family was packed and ready to move — now they’re left with only the clothes on their backs. Gabriale Voeltner told KCNC-TV that the remains of her husband and her mother were inside of the U-Haul truck they left parked overnight, as well as love letters her husband had written and other mementos.”You can take all the valuable stuff, Voeltner told the TV station. “But I just hope they see the sentimental stuff and they just leave it.”Her husband — and the father of her four children — died in 2017.
