SPENCERVILLE, Md. – A small earthquake rattled parts of Maryland early Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
The 1.8 magnitude quake struck at approximately 3:22 a.m. on June 25, 2024. Its epicenter was located in Spencerville, Montgomery County, and the shaking could be felt as far away as Calvert County and even into Delaware. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 5.9 kilometers.
The USGS received over 30 reports from individuals who felt the quake. So far, there have been no reports of injuries or damage.
