FanDuel, which operates retail and online sports betting, plus iGaming, in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, tells Casino.org that on Dec. 18 the company will cover rides aboard the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) train that connects New Jersey’s Newark and Hoboken with New York City.

Free rides that same day aboard the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority’s (SEPTA) Broad Street “B” Line will also be paid for by the sportsbook and online casino operator. Additionally, motorists traveling through the Pleasantville Toll Plaza along with the Atlantic City Expressway will see their toll covered by FanDuel.

This exciting FanDuel Casino opportunity represents a continued investment by FanDuel in its casino brand and the opportunity to engage new and existing customers with content and experiences that excite customers,” said Daniele Phillips, FanDuel’s vice president of marketing. “As part of our ongoing brand campaign, we’re here to show people nothing beats the feeling of winning on FanDuel Casino, though a lot of great feelings come close, like scoring a free ride or toll for the day.”

The FanDuel promo runs all day on the Atlantic City Expressway, from 8 pm until 11 pm for PATH rides, and from 6 pm to midnight along the B Line. Rides and drivers do not have to be FanDuel customers to participate.

Holiday Giving

FanDuel’s free fares and tolls on Dec. 18 will come exactly a week before Christmas.

The online casino platform paying for train rides and highway tolls is a nice early present during the final stretch of the shopping crunch. But FanDuel, of course, isn’t hoping to only be a giver this holiday season but also a receiver with new account signups stemming from the promotion.

Through 10 months of 2024, the FanDuel Casino in New Jersey generated gross gaming revenue of approximately $408.6 million. FanDuel operates iGaming in New Jersey through a partnership with Golden Nugget Atlantic City.

FanDuel’s GGR of $408.6 million ranks second behind only rival DraftKings at $421.5 million. DraftKings is licensed through Resorts.

As for sports betting in New Jersey, FanDuel runs a retail sportsbook at the Meadowlands Racetrack and an online skin through the partnership. FanDuel sports revenue through 10 months of the year totaled just shy of $380.3 million. DraftKings was a distant second at $237.7 million.

In Pennsylvania, FanDuel’s online casino operations are licensed through Live! Casino Philadelphia and Valley Forge Casino Resort (Stardust Casino). The platforms generated gross revenue of $522.5 million during the state’s 2023-24 fiscal year that ended June 30, 2024.

In New York, the richest sports betting state, FanDuel’s online sportsbook between April through November won $635.9 million off bettors. That’s tops in the critical state.

Dec. 18 Savings

How much savings are available on Dec. 18 with the FanDuel deal?

For an automobile, each pass through the Pleasantville Toll Plaza along the Atlantic City Expressway costs $1.40. The toll jumps to $2.55 for dual-tire vehicles, $3.55 for three axles, and $4.70 for four axles.

PATH fares begin at $2.75 and rides along SEPTA’s B Line start at $2.50.
