Baltimore police are investigating a suspicious death involving a 61-year-old woman.City police said officers were called at 4:40 p.m. Monday to a house in the 2500 block of Violet Avenue in northwest Baltimore for a non-breathing sick case.Neighbors told 11 News the woman was found in her bed.Investigators from the medical examiner’s office inspected the body and found multiple signs of trauma, ruling the death a homicide.Police are withholding the victim’s name until relatives are notified. Neighbors said the killing of their friend is puzzling because she was so well-liked and she lived in a secure building. They remembered the victim as a friendly, gracious person.”She was a beautiful person. She’d always dance, have a good time. Whoever did it, whatever happened to her I hope, if they did anything wrong, they (should) go to jail,” said Bruce, a neighbor.”I don’t know who would want to hurt her, honestly, because she was not that type of person. I don’t know who would want to hurt her,” said Cedonia Betts, a neighbor. “(She was) a beautiful person. She cared about everybody. She always extended her hand. She like to party, loved to dance.””She was a very pleasant person. She didn’t bother nobody. She went to the market. She spoke to everybody, stayed to herself,” said Bobby, a neighbor.Neighbors said they are worried about how the person who killed her got into the building. Residents access the building using a pass card, and visitors must check in with staff in the lobby. Investigators declined to discuss whether there was a forced entry to the victim’s apartment or whether anything was taken.
