19-Year-Old Killed, Three Shot In Prince George’s County

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. – Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Monday afternoon in the unincorporated section of District Heights. The victim is 19-year-old Anthony Ward III of Upper Marlboro.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

On June 10, 2024, at approximately 3:15 pm, officers responded to the 5400 block of Marlboro Pike for a shooting outside of a business. Once on scene, they located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers attempted life-saving measures on the three victims. Ward was pronounced dead on the scene. The two additional victims, an adult male and an adult female, suffered injuries preliminarily not considered life-threatening.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).
