A 10-year-old boy trusted his gut, took action and likely saved his grandmother’s life during a recent medical emergency. Melanie Robinson told KMOV she recalls getting up, feeling paralyzed and then sliding from her bed to the floor.”Everything went black and the only thing I could move was my finger to try to get my grandson’s attention,” Robinson said. Robinson’s grandson, Keon White, immediately called for help. “I was screaming her name and she wouldn’t answer me. So I got her phone and dialed 911. I told them that my grandma wouldn’t answer me and that her eyes was closed,” White said. A 911 dispatcher helped White monitor his grandmother’s breathing and pulse until first responders arrived. Robinson spent two days in the hospital for what nurses say was a diabetic episode. Now, she’s home and thankful to be alive. “If he hadn’t been there, I hate to think what would have happened,” she said.
