It only looked like Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were walking down a runway as they brought a lot of wow with their fashion during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
The Wicked co-stars looked stunning walking the red carpet ahead of the opening ceremony in Paris, France. Erivo donned a custom Louis Vuitton green satin bustier gown with 3D double folded details on the skirt with a matching belt, green coated boxy hat and metallized calf leather pumps.
Grande looked equally stunning in a custom pink duchess silk Thom Browne dress, which featured pleat with bow detail. She matched the fit with silk gloves with pink and white pebble grain leather pumps.
Ahead of attending the opening ceremony, the duo walked the red carpet and spoke to NBC Sports and shared that they did not coordinate their outfits. They said it was a mere coincidence, something Grande says has happened quite a bit since they met during the first day of rehearsals.
The duo also shared who they’re excited to see compete at these games, which, like the rest of the nation, include Simone Biles and the rest of Team USA, as well as track star Sha’Carri Richardson. It’s a day of firsts for the gals, who are attending their first Olympic Games.
Wicked, the film adaptation of the Broadway sensation, is set to hit theaters Nov. 22. Grande and Erivo star as the film’s two main witches, Glinda and Elphaba, respectively.
The film follows the story of Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba — aka the Wicked Witch of the West — and how they went from foes to unlikely friends while together on the campus of Shiz University.
The adaptation also stars Bridgerton‘s Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero — the love interest who finds himself caught between Elphaba and Glinda — Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh as headmistress Madame Morrible and Jeff Goldblum as the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Just last month, the film dropped a new trailer teasing additional songs from the iconic musical. The 30-second trailer dropped during 77th Tony Awards.
Wicked: Part One releases on Nov. 22, 2024 while Wicked: Part Two is expected on Nov. 26, 2025.
