
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Fire and Rescue Commission of Calvert County has many responsibilities that ensure the smooth allocation of funds for the rescue squad and fire department. The commission is also responsible for drafting plans that are in line with Calvert County’s Comprehensive Plan.
According to the Calvert County Government website, “The Calvert County Comprehensive Plan is the county’s official policy document that sets forth a vision of the county’s future. The plan serves as a guide for future planning to be implemented through local laws and public investments over the next 20 to 25 years.”
Meetings of the Fire and Rescue Commission are open to everyone. The commission is in accordance with the Open Meetings Act, so all residents can get involved with their local emergency services. The meetings take place inside the Public Safety Facility, located at 315 Stafford Road, Prince Frederick, Maryland 20678.
During the previous meeting of the Fire and Rescue Commission on July 30th, they reviewed the county budget, special projects, and reports from Calvert County government officials.
The next meeting of the Fire and Rescue Commission is set to take place on September 24th, and it will discuss important issues pertaining to the budget and upcoming projects in Calvert County. There’s an updated list of meeting agendas on this webpage.
