Vanetta Lea Wright, 73, of Lusby, MD passed away peacefully on August 6, 2024 at St. Mary’s Nursing Center in Leonardtown, MD with her loving family at her side.
She was born February 6, 1951 in Yuma, AZ to the late Wilbur Lee Wright and Jamie Joan (nee: Mann) Wright.
Vanetta married at a young age and then began her adventure as a military wife. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida and eventually to Southern Maryland.
Being born and raised in Arizona, she absolutely fell in love with the beautiful East coast waterways, and this is where she stayed to raise her 3 girls.
Vanetta became an active member of her church and dedicated well over 20 years of her life serving others.
Over the years, she had worked as a secretary and used her skill to teach typing to students at Rock Christian Academy.
Vanetta was also a Sunday school teacher and a school monitor. She had very found memories of this time, as she spoke of this often.
Vanetta loved children and had a calm and gentle spirit with them. She ran a daycare for many years and absolutely loved this career path, as it always kept her on her toes and kept her laughing.
Laughing was her favorite thing to do and her laugh was ridiculously contagious. Once it started, there was no end in sight.
Vanetta was a lover of nature. She enjoyed hiking and tending to her garden. She found peace there.
She also loved to bake goodies for our neighbors at Christmas time. Her cinnamon rolls and fudge were unmatched. Im sure she put a little magic in them.
Vanetta truly loved to see people happy and smiling. She could see positivity in all things. She spent most of her life helping others and she would do above and beyond for anyone.
She was absolutely the most loving mother, Nanny to her grandchildren, and friend you’d ever have the pleasure of knowing.
Vanetta is survived by her daughters, Sabrena Pospisil of Edisto, SC and Michelle Pospisil (Paul Biekert) of Lusby, MD; her sister, Shelley Wright of Yuma, AZ; brother, Stacy Wright (Ann) of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Aeron Musumeci, Brad Eells, Maren Eells, and Noah Fowler; great-grandson, Colton Musumeci; and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her daughter, Tamara Pospisil and grandson, Christian Pospisil.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a Funeral Service celebrated by Pastor Jim Cucuzza at 11:00 a.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD. Interment will be private.
