Two Sheds Destroyed In Mechanicsville Blaze, State Fire Marshal Investigates

MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that destroyed two sheds in Mechanicsville on Wednesday afternoon.

The blaze, which occurred at 26010 Prospect Hill Road, was reported by a neighbor at 1:41 p.m. on September 4, 2024. Fifteen firefighters responded to the scene and brought the fire under control within 15 minutes. No injuries were reported.

According to officials, the fire consumed two stand-alone sheds measuring 12′ x 16′ and 12′ x 14′, along with their contents. A nearby fence was also damaged in the incident. The total estimated loss is approximately $10,000 between structural damage and contents.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal urges anyone with information about this incident to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
