ST. LEONARD, Md. – About 40 Southern Maryland supporters of Donald Trump’s reelection participated in the Trump Boat Parade on Saturday, June 29 at St. Leonard’s Creek on the Patuxent.
A Small Craft Advisory that was meant to end at 8 a.m. was extended and kept folks away with only 13 vessels at the parade, according to Paul Harrison, the boat parade organizer. This advisory is a warning when winds have reached dangerous speeds offshore.
The cabin cruisers took the lead as the parade made their way to the Patuxent under the bridge and went around Soloman’s island, Harrison said.
“We were greeted in the Solomons Harbor by some friendly boat horns and waves,” Harrison said.
The boat parade was meant to raise awareness of Trump’s efforts to retake the White House.

Harrison hopes the parade encouraged as many people as possible to vote for Trump and that attendees had fun at the parade while also prioritizing safety on the boats.
“We were in the right place and did help with a boater in distress by calling the Coast Guard on VHF16,” Harrison said.
The boater’s outboard motor broke off the transom but fortunately, the Coast Guard responded in only a few minutes, according to Harrison.
Harrison is running for the Calvert County Board of Education in the fall and more information about his candidacy can be found on his website.
