BRYANS ROAD, Md. – A routine tree-cutting job turned perilous on Monday morning when a worker was severely injured by a falling tree limb.
The incident occurred around 10:51 a.m. on October 14, 2024, at a residence on Riverwood Place near Tree View Drive in Bryans Road. Emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a person trapped under a fallen tree.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a 40-year-old man, employed by a local tree service company, had been struck by a falling tree limb. While not trapped, the worker had sustained serious injuries, prompting immediate medical attention.
Due to the severity of the injuries, emergency medical personnel called for a MEDEVAC. Firefighters established a landing zone nearby for Maryland State Police Trooper 2.
The injured worker was airlifted to Baltimore Shock Trauma Center in critical condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. The identity of the worker and the name of the tree service company have not been disclosed.
