🌩 Thunderstorms in Maryland’s weekend forecast

METEOROLOGIST TOM TESLA MEYER. THERE ARE SOME THUNDERSTORMS IN OUR WEEKEND FORECAST, SO WE’LL BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR POSSIBLE WATCHES OR WARNINGS. DOESN’T LOOK LIKE ANYTHING. THERE’LL BE SEVERE BUT THE POTENTIAL IS THERE FOR IF WE RUMBLES OF THUNDER TOMORROW AFTERNOON, TOMORROW EVENING. RIGHT NOW, WE’RE JUST ENJOYING ANOTHER WARM APRIL DAY, 80 DEGREES AT THE INNER HARBOR RIGHT NOW WITH THE WIND LIGHT OUT OF THE SOUTH AND THE HUMIDITY CAME UP A LITTLE BIT EARLIER THIS WEEK WHEN WE WERE HAVING ALL THE BRUSH FIRE THREATS. THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY WAS LIKE 15 TO 20% AND THE TEMPERATURES WERE CLOSER TO 90. SO SLIGHTLY LOWER TEMPERATURES, LIGHTER WINDS, A LITTLE MORE HUMIDITY. WE’RE STARTING TO GET RID OF THAT BRUSH FIRE THREAT. WE NEED THE RAIN AND HOPEFULLY WE’LL GET A LITTLE BIT OF IT, EVEN THOUGH IT IS COMING AT LEAST FOR THE FIRST PART OF THE WEEKEND. THESE ARE THE CURRENT TEMPERATURES. NOTICE IT’S COOLER TO OUR SOUTH WHERE CLOUDS AND SHOWERS ARE ALREADY BEGINNING TO APPROACH. SO ONLY 68 IN CRISFIELD RIGHT NOW. 71 IN OCEAN CITY, BUT IT’S 81 AND PARKED IN AND STEWARTSTOWN UP INTO SOUTHERN PENNSYLVANIA AND HANCOCK IN WESTERN MARYLAND AT 84. NOTICE THE SHOWERS COMING UP THE I-95 CORRIDOR GETTING JUST NORTH OF RICHMOND. NOW, THERE’VE BEEN SOME LIGHTNING STRIKES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LITTLE BAND OF SHOWERS COMING UP OUT OF VIRGINIA. THIS STORM SYSTEM WAS DOWN IN THE GULF, DRENCHING PARTS OF FLORIDA AND THE GULF COAST REGION. NOW IT’S BRINGING THOSE RAIN SHOWERS INTO THE MID-ATLANTIC AND THAT’S WHAT WE WILL BE DEALING WITH TOMORROW. THIS SHOULD MOVE OUT OF THE PICTURE, THOUGH, IN TIME TO ALLOW US TO SNEAK IN ONE DECENT DAY ON SUNDAY, I THINK WILL BE IN BETWEEN THIS SYSTEM DEPARTING AND THE NEXT ONE APPROACHING ON SUNDAY. SO MOST OF SUNDAY LOOKS ACTUALLY DECENT LATER IN THE NIGHT, SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING, THE FRONT WILL COME THROUGH AND THAT’LL BRING IN SOME COOLER TEMPERATURES NEXT WEEK. BUT IF YOU PLAN IT RIGHT, YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO GET OUTSIDE AND ENJOY SOME DECENT SPRING WEATHER OVER THE WEEKEND. HERE COME THE SHOWERS UP FROM THE SOUTH, 8:00 TONIGHT BETWEEN EIGHT AND ABOUT 11:00 MIDNIGHT SHOWER, MAYBE A FEW RUMBLES OF THUNDER SPREADING ACROSS THE AREA. AND THEN ALL DAY TOMORROW, WE’RE DEALING WITH OFF AND ON SHOWERS. BUT NOTICE IT’S DRY AT OCEAN CITY WHEN IT’S RAINING IN BALTIMORE AT SEVEN IN THE MORNING. AND SO IT WILL BE KIND OF SCATTERED. IT’S JUST THAT YOU’RE GOING TO HAVE TO PLAN ON A POSSIBLE RAIN SHOWER AT ANY TIME DURING THE DAY TOMORROW. THIS ALL LIFTS OUT OF THE PICTURE. SATURDAY NIGHT, SUNDAY AFTERNOON, A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS AND NOTICE VERY SPOTTY SHOWER ACTIVITY. ONLY ABOUT A 30% CHANCE OF PICKING UP SOME WET WEATHER SUNDAY AFTERNOON. THE BETTER CHANCE FOR RAIN WILL COME IN LATER SUNDAY NIGHT. 63 OVERNIGHT TONIGHT WITH THE SHOWERS DEVELOPING, ESPECIALLY AFTER MIDNIGHT. THEN TOMORROW, SOME SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS COMES AND 73 A LIGHT SOUTHEAST WIND, 75 IN MILLINGTON WHERE THE THUNDERSTORMS 76 AND GAITHERSBURG AND 76 IN CUMBERLAND AS WELL. SO THE TEMPERATURES ARE STILL MILD. WE’RE JUST DEALING WITH THE OFF AND ON SHOWERS AND STORMS, SOME SUNSHINE SUNDAY MORNING. A FEW ISOLATED SHOWERS IN THE AFTERNOON. A BETTER CHANCE FOR RAIN LATE SUNDAY NIGHT, EARLY MONDAY MORNIN
