The Town of Chesapeake Beach Independence Day Celebration on July 3 (Viewing begins at dusk – around 9 pm) – The Town of Chesapeake Beach’s upcoming Independence Day Celebration is scheduled for July 3, 2024, with a rain date of July 6, 2024. Every year the Town of Chesapeake Beach sponsors a fireworks display at the center of the Town. View their website for the traffic plan. 

Solomons 2024 Fireworks on July 4 (9:15 pm approx.) – All events are FREE and open to the public. Updates are posted on Facebook. Parking: There is limited Street Parking on and around the island with overflow parking at Glascock Field for $5 starting at 3:00 pm. 100% of the proceeds from parking at Glascock Field will be donated to the Calvert High ROTC. Trolleys buses are planned to help transport visitors from Glascock Field and around the island.

Charles County Fair Ground July 4th Fireworks on July 4(3 pm to 10:30 pm), located at 8440 Fairground Rd La Plata, MD – Celebrate America’s Birthday with live music, good food and an outstanding firework display! Admission is free.

Town of Indian Head Annual 4th of July Celebration on July 4(starts at 3:30 pm, ticket booth closed at 7 pm), located at Village Green Park– Food vendors, live entertainment from CJ Rockin’ Roger & G Frequency, amusements and pony rides. Amusement will open at 4 pm and run until 8 pm. The event will finish with a beautiful fireworks display! 

Regency Furniture Blue Crab’s Stadium Independence Day on July 4 (5 pm to 10 pm), located at 11765 St Linus Dr, Waldorf, MD – Come help us celebrate Independence Day from 5-10pm! Enjoy an incredible fireworks show right here at Regency Furniture Stadium! Free entry to the Kids Park! Food and games for a night of family fun! Tickets only $8!

Food Truck Friday on June 28 (4:30 pm to 7 pm), located at Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department, 24801 Three Notch Road, Hollywood, MD – Bring your family and tell your friends….. come out support your local volunteers and the various local food truck businesses! Choose from your favorite meals, beverages and concessions. There’s something for everyone! Beer will also be available for purchase.

LGBTQ+ Social Hour on June 28 (6 pm to 8 pm), located at Viking Axe Throwing, 22825 Lawrence Ave, Leonardtown, MD – Join us for an “Axes & S’more’s” Social Hour with Viking Axe Throwing at Shepherd’s Old Field Market located in Leonardtown. This event will take place June 28th, beginning at 6PM. *All are welcome to attend! S’mores provided… but anyone participating in axe throwing will pay individually through “Viking Axe Throwing.”

Drop-In Basketball at Carver Recreation Center every Saturday through July 6 (9 am to 12:30 pm), located at Carver Recreation Center, 47382 Lincoln Avenue, Lexington Park, MD – Join us for a drop-in basketball event at Carver Recreation Center on Saturdays. Two sessions are available: Players in grades 6-8 from 9:00-10:30am Players in grades 9 & 10 from 11:00am-12:30pm Fees: $5 per session ($7 per session for non- residents). To guarantee your spot, participants must register in advance. Registration is open beginning at 9:00am the Monday prior and closes at 12:00pm on the Friday prior. No team registrations, coaching or instructing are allowed. Adults may participate as spectators only. Players should not bring their own basketball. Basketballs will be provided. Players will sign in on team rosters upon their arrival. Pick-up scrimmage games will be played. The length of each game will be determined by the number of players attending. Players should bring a refillable water bottle.

Summer Family Day Archery Wrokshop on June 29 (10 am to 12 pm), located at Historic St. Mary’s City, 18751 Hogaboom Lane, St. Mary’s City, MD – For ages 7 & up. HSMC is offering an archery workshop designed for families that are looking for a creative way to have fun and learn a new skill while spending time together. Participants of this workshop will learn the basics of this ancient sport.  No experience needed; equipment will be provided. Workshop may be canceled due to inclement weather. St. Mary’s Freedom Fest on June 29 (3 pm to 10 pm), located at 42455 Fairgrounds Road, Leonardtown, MD – St. Mary’s Freedom Fest is an Independence Day celebration. Music, entertainment, food, activities and a grand fireworks display at dark. This is a free admission event.

Golden Beach Go 4th on the Rogue Festival & Fireworks Show on July 4 (12 pm to 10:30 pm) – Join us in Gold Beach for our annual family fun event! This year we will have live music, vendors, family activities and more! Hang out and celebrate with us throughout the day until we light off fireworks over the mouth of the Rogue River with the assistance of the Gold Beach Volunteer Fire Department! River Concert Series: It’s A John Williams 4th, Plus 1812 & Fireworks on July 5 (7 pm to 9 pm), located at Townhouse Green, 47760 College Dr, St Marys City, MD– A Southern Maryland tradition, this family-friendly music festival, and winner of two Governor’s Awards for Arts, Tourism, and Community Economic Development will again be held on the St. Mary’s College Townhouse Green every Friday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (grounds opening at 5 p.m.) from June 21 through July 19. The River Concert Series and the appearances of The Chesapeake Orchestra are made possible by the generous contributions of sponsors, individual donations, The Maryland State Arts Council, The St. Mary’s County Arts Council and Commissioners of St. Mary’s County.   Food and beverages, provided by local vendors, will be available for purchase on location. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own refreshments, blankets, and chairs. Pets are not allowed at the River Concerts. Concerts are FREE of charge and open to the public.
