WALDORF, Md. – A violent altercation at Waldorf Pizza and Subs on July 30, 2024, has led to the arrest of Decaprio Kennard Dixon, who now faces charges of first-degree assault and theft under $100.
According to court documents, the incident began when Dixon accused the restaurant of double-charging him for a sandwich. His frustration quickly escalated into violence as he jumped behind the counter, physically attacked the employee, and stole $20 from the cash register.
Witnesses reported that Dixon, after accusing the establishment of the double charge, became increasingly agitated. The situation deteriorated rapidly when Dixon grabbed the employee by the neck and pulled their hair, demanding a refund. Official documents indicate a bystander attempted to intervene, but Dixon continued his assault until law enforcement arrived.
Official statements say the police responded to the scene to find the employee unconscious, with Dixon still visibly agitated. He was immediately taken into custody. Dixon is now held without bail at the Charles County Detention Center.
First-degree assault in Maryland is considered a felony and carries a potential penalty of up to 25 years in prison. The theft charge, although a misdemeanor, could potentially result in an additional 90 days in jail and a $500 fine. Dixon’s court date has yet to be scheduled.
