The Chi Casts Power Alum Rotimi As Recurring In Season 7


Rotimi, known for his role as Dre on Starz’s Power, is set for a heavily recurring role in the upcoming seventh season of The Chi. He will portray Charles, Pastor Ezekiel’s (played by Daniel J. Watts) former assistant who returns to the church seeking a second chance. Charles was introduced in the Season 6 finale, and Rotimi’s character will continue to develop in a multi-episode arc in Season 7.

The Chi, created and executive produced by Lena Waithe and executive produced by Common, focuses on a group of residents on the South Side of Chicago who become linked by coincidence and bonded by their need for connection and redemption. The show is produced by 20th Television and airs on Paramount+ with Showtime.

Rotimi has a diverse acting portfolio, with television credits that include a series regular role on Starz’s Boss and recurring roles on CBS’s Battle Creek and Betrayal. His recent television appearance was a guest role on ABC’s Will Trent. On the film side, he was recently seen in New Line’s reboot of House Party and has appeared in Favorite Son, Divergent, Deuces, Black Nativity, and Imperial Dreams. He is represented by Artist Collective Entertainment, Vault Entertainment, and Meyer & Downs.
