SUITLAND, Md. – The Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into a fatal shooting that took place Thursday evening in Suitland. The decedent is 16-year-old Juan Roach of Suitland.
On June 27, 2024, at approximately 6:40 pm, officers responded to the 7400 block of Towne Park Road for a shooting. The decedent was located outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A second person, an adult male, was also shot. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The preliminary investigation into this incident suggests more than one individual fired a weapon and multiple individuals were armed at the scene. One firearm was recovered outside in the courtyard area. Detectives continue to work to determine the circumstances and the motive for the shooting.
Detectives are in consultation with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office regarding this investigation. At this time, there are no charges against any of those involved. The investigation continues.
