11 NEWS REPORTER KHIREE STEWART IS IN ELKRIDGE WITH THAT STORY. KHIREE: THAT BODY WAS FOUND INSIDE OF A HOME HERE ON OLD WASHINGTON ROAD, WHICH MADE FOR AN UNSETTLING DAY FOR SOME PEOPLE IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. >> I’VE LIVED HERE FOR ABOUT FOUR YEARS. SO IT WAS, IT WAS SOMEWHAT CONCERNING. KHIREE: AROUND 10:30 FRIDAY MORNING, POLICE SAY THEY GOT THE CALL FOR A POSSIBLE HOME INVASION AT THIS HOUSE ON THE 6000 BLOCK OF OLD WASHINGTON ROAD. JOEL ZAPF LIVES NEARBY AND SAW WHEN OFFICERS ARRIVED. >> I LOOKED OUTSIDE, A LOOKED LIKE MAYBE SWAT OR SOMEBODY CAME OUT WITH, FULL, LIKE, WHAT LOOKED LIKE MILITARY GEAR AND AR-15’S. KHIREE: POLICE FOUND A MAN DEAD INSIDE THE HOME AND SAY HIS BODY DOES SHOW SIGNS OF TRAUMA. >> I SAW HIM, WITH WHAT LOOKED LIKE A LARGE MAN’S BODY WITH FOUR GUYS HOLDING EACH — PULLED HIM OUT. AND THEN SHORTLY AFTER, THERE WAS ANOTHER GROUP THAT CAME OUT OF THE BACKSIDE OF THE HOUSE WITH A MAN, LOOKED LIKE IN A SILVER BLANKET, LEANING FORWARD, MAYBE HANDCUFFED. KHIREE: POLICE TOOK A PERSON INSIDE THE RESIDENCE INTO CUSTODY. FIREFIGHTERS ALSO PUT OUT A SMALL FIRE INSIDE THE HOME. INVESTIGATORS HAVE NOT SAID HOW THE FIRE WAS RELATED OR WHETHER THE SUSPECT KNEW THE VICTIM, BUT WE DO KNOW IT WAS NOT A DOMESTIC INCIDENT. ZAPF CALLS THE SITUATION SAD AND UNNERVING. >> IT’S A QUIET, NICE NEIGHBORHOOD. Police investigate suspicious death in Elkridge

Howard County police said they are investigating a suspicious death at a house in Elkridge.County police said officers were called around 10:30 a.m. Friday to the 6000 block of Old Washington Road for a possible home invasion.”I looked out my window and I saw several cop cars and firetrucks,” said Joel Zapf, a neighbor. “It looked like maybe SWAT or somebody came out with, like, what looked like full military gear and AR-15s.”Police said they found a man’s body inside the house with signs of trauma. One person at the house was taken into custody. “I saw him with what looked like a large man’s body,” Zapf said. “Then, shortly after, there was another group that came out of the backside of the house with a man, looked like in a silver blanket, leaning forward, maybe handcuffed.”Firefighters also extinguished a small fire at the house, police said. Investigators have not said how the fire was related or whether the person taken into custody knew the victim, but it was not a domestic incident.An investigation continues.
