St. Mary's College Women's Soccer Extends Unbeaten Streak To Nine Games

ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Women’s Soccer Team (13-1-2) welcomed the Gators of Notre Dame (MD) (2-8-1) for a midweek United East Conference matchup. The Seahawks came out on top 7-0.

How it Happened

  • The Seahawks wasted no time to assert their dominance in the contest. Megan Rusk scored six minutes in to give St. Mary’s a 1-0 lead. 
  • Gracie Tourangeau and Makayla Marvray found the back of the net within 10 minutes of each other to tally the second and third Seahawk goals of the first half. Marvray’s goal was assisted by Megan Stambaugh
  • Felicia Fishburne concluded a dominant first half by St. Mary’s with an unassisted goal in the 44th minute. 
  • The Seahawks out shot the Gators 29-0 in the half. 
  • Mia McKenzie helped the Seahawks pick up right where they left off, scoring in the 45th minute. Cicely Clark contributed the assist. 
  • Clark picked up her second assist of the game on a Megan Rusk goal in the 53rd minute. Rusk finished the game with two tallies. 
  • Rylee Cessna scored the seventh and final goal for St Mary’s in the 63rd minute on yet another Cicely Clark assist. 
  • St. Mary’s out shot Notre Dame (MD) 30-0 in the second half. The Gator goalkeeper finished with 20 saves.

  • Megan Rusk led the Seahawks in scoring with two goals. 
  • Cicely Clark assisted on all three second half goals.  
  • The Seahawks completed their second consecutive game without allowing a shot.
