ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Southern Maryland Public Schools have begun offering the Apprenticeship Maryland program to students aged 16 and older. This is an opportunity for high school students to gain real work experience in the industry of their choice.
One of the primary focuses of Apprenticeship Maryland is STEM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. However, the exact programs offered vary by county.
Several different fields are available to students in the Apprenticeship Maryland program, including the following six.
Apprenticeships for the 2024-2025 school year have begun this summer and will continue into the fall. Stay alert for apprenticeship sign-ups for your county for the 2025-2026
school year by following your county school system’s websites and newsletters. Calvert County, St. Mary’s County, Anne Arundel County, Charles County, and Prince George’s County are all currently participating in Apprenticeship Maryland. Below, you can find a link to your county’s program.
Business owners can participate in the Apprenticeship Maryland program by calling 410-767-2246 to speak to an apprenticeship navigator. The navigator will help you prepare a program to present to the Maryland Apprenticeship Training Council.
