SOUTHERN MARYLAND – Several Southern Maryland counties will be celebrating Juneteenth with live music, vendors, food, and plenty more starting this Saturday, June 15.
St. Mary’s County
The Unified Committee For Afro-American Contributions (UCAC) is hosting its Juneteenth Celebration of Emancipation and African American Cultural Heritage from noon to 7 p.m. at John G. Lancaster Park on June 15.
The free event welcomes all ages to enjoy live music, speakers, workshops, food, and community.
The UCAC expands and grows every year with new sponsors, vendors, entertainment, and attendees from the community, according to the UCAC website.
Although some seating and covered areas are arranged, the UCAC encourages attendees to bring their own chairs and small tents or umbrellas.

Calvert County
The 28th Annual NAACP Juneteenth Community Celebration will be held on June 15 at the Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event will have a car show, merchandise vendors, a talent show, family fun, kids activities, and local music group performances.

Prince George’s County
The Orunfield Family Farm is hosting a Juneteenth Festival on June 15 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for a day full of celebration and community spirit.
Attendees can enjoy live music, food, arts and crafts, and family-friendly activities while immersing themselves in the history and culture of Juneteenth.

Charles County
The Juneteenth Committee of Charles County will be celebrating the annual Charles County Juneteenth Celebration on June 15 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Regency Furniture Stadium.
The free celebration will include live music, African cultural drumming, a tribute to black ancestors, black art, a poetry contest, food, fireworks, and much more.
All attendees will receive a complimentary ticket to the Blue Crabs baseball game and children will have access to the tot-lot.
Proceeds from this event are to support Charles County Students through collegiate scholarships.
