Solomons Business Association Releases Event Schedule For 4th Of July

SOLOMONS, Md. – Solomons Business Association (SBA) released the event schedule for this year’s 4th of July activities on Solomons Island. 

Primary funding for the annual 4th of July Fireworks is provided by Calvert County government through a grant from the Department of Economic Development. Additional funds have been donated by a group of generous local businesses.

All events are FREE and open to the public.

Flag Raising Ceremony / 10:00 am  

LOCATION: Watermen’s Memorial at entrance to Solomons Island 

Children’s Bike Parade / 10:45 AM registration/ Parade Starts at 11:00 AM

LOCATION: Our Lady Star of the Sea Parking Lot/ Alexander Lane, Solomons 

1st Maryland Regiment Colonial Reenactors Encampment / 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM 

LOCATION: Corbin Nature Pavilion / Calvert Marine Museum 

FREE Historical Adventure Quest (for Children) / 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM  

LOCATION: Begins at Calvert Marine Museum (Corbin Nature Pavilion) 

FREE Live Concert / Calvert Brass Consortium / Time TBD

LOCATION: Corbin Nature Pavilion & Boardwalk Pavilion 

Boat Parade / 12:00 Noon

LOCATION: Begins in Back Creek and proceeds to Patuxent River past the Riverside Boardwalk

FREE Live Concert  / UNCLOUDED DAY  / 5:00 PM 

LOCATION: Front Lawn – Our Lady Star of the Sea Church

FREE Live Concert / SOCIAL / 7:00 PM

LOCATION: Boardwalk Pavilion

Fireworks / 9:15 pm 

LOCATION: Patuxent River in front of the Riverside Boardwalk 

Parking: There is limited Street Parking on and around the island with overflow parking at Glascock Field for $5 starting at 3:00 pm. 100% of the proceeds from parking at Glascock Field will be donated to the Calvert High ROTC. 

Trolley buses are planned to help transport visitors from Glascock Field and around the island.
