
SALISBURY, Md. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Women’s Soccer Team (4-0-1) concluded the Salisbury classic with a matchup against Methodist College (1-2). The Seahawks earned a 2-0 victory to wrap up the weekend.
How it Happened
- The Seahwks wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as they found the back of the net just two minutes into the contest to take a 1-0 lead.
- Alyssa McLane demonstrated great ball skills in traffic, looping a shot past the Methodist goalkeeper from the top right corner of the box.
- St. Mary’s outshot Methodist 9-2 over the first half.
- Kylie Wells made one first half save.
- St. Mary’s extended their lead in the 57th minute with an Ashlyn Bonner unassisted goal.
- Bonner made the most of a free kick opportunity, putting the ball just out of reach of the Methodist goaltender to give the Seahawks a 2-0 advantage.
- The Monarchs went on to outshoot the Seahawks in the half, but had nothing to show for it.
- Emma Tawney made a second half save and St. Mary’s took home the victory, 2-0.
