SMADC Seeks Experienced Farmers To Mentor Next Generation In Revitalized Maryland FarmLINK Program

HUGHESVILLE, Md. – The Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission (SMADC) is revitalizing the Maryland FarmLINK Mentor Match Program, seeking experienced farmers to guide new agricultural producers. Mentors who successfully match with a mentee for the year long program will be compensated for their time and expertise with a stipend.

This program aims to bridge the knowledge gap between seasoned farmers and beginning producers, fostering collaboration within the Southern Maryland agricultural community.

To launch this revitalization, SMADC is actively seeking mentors passionate about guiding the next generation of agricultural producers. An informational meet-and-greet workshop will take place on Tuesday, September 10th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the SMADC building. The workshop is free for mentors, while mentees can register for $15.

Interested beginning farmers can register via the link provide here, and potential mentors are encouraged to reach out via email for more information. Attached flyers are available for distribution to help spread the word.
