Samsung Galaxy A16 5G and A16 4G prices leak

Mere hours ago a leak brought us a look at all the colors of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A16 in both 4G and 5G iterations, and now a new leak sheds light on one of the most important aspects of these phones: their prices.

According to a European retailer’s internal database, the Galaxy A16 4G will cost €209.90 while the Galaxy A16 5G will be priced at €239.90. Both of these prices are with 128GB of storage, but it’s unclear what amount of RAM they get as this database apparently doesn’t store that information.

If these are the base models – and the pricing makes us assume they are – then it wouldn’t be surprising to see them paired with 4GB of RAM, an amount which has been rumored for the A16 series before. That’s way too little RAM for an Android device in 2024, so we’d suggest you go for at least 6GB, though that may cost you well over the amounts above. The 8GB version, which is the top of the line one paired with 256GB of storage, would then cost even more, but it’s still unclear exactly how much.

As usual with price-related leaks, keep in mind that these prices won’t translate directly into other currencies very well. Even within the EU, there are multiple VAT levels which could influence the pricing ever so slightly.

The Galaxy A16 5G will be powered by either the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC (in India and Thailand) or the Samsung Exynos 1330 (everywhere else, seemingly). It will have a 6.7-inch 1080×2340 LCD touchscreen with 90 Hz refresh rate and 800-nit peak brightness, a 5,000 mAh battery, and an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.

One of its headline ‘features’ will undoubtedly be the software support, including six major Android updates and six years of security patches, something that’s hard to rival at that price point. On the other hand, not a lot is known about the 4G version of the A16, but it might just be identical save for the chipset, as was the case with the A15 and A15 5G.
