The InfoComm 2024 exhibition kicks off today and Samsung will be presenting SmartThings Pro, an enterprise version of its smart home platform that is aimed at B2B (business-to-business) solutions.
The goal is to have an integrated management platform for connected devices around an office, a store or a hotel, for example. This includes controlling the TV in a hotel room, lightning in an office, smart signage in a store, various appliances, air conditioning and so on.
A dashboard will provide monitoring and control over all connected devices. It will also enable AI-based management that could reduce the power bill by analyzing the usage pattern of the various devices.
Since this is aimed at businesses, the platform will naturally support monitoring and controlling devices spread across multiple stores/locations. For each one, an interactive floor plan can be constructed to make things more intuitive.

This so-called Control Hub will be integrated into products like video conferencing systems from Cisco and smart hotel products from Aquara. Additionally, Samsung is collaborating with other companies to expand the functionality of the SmartThings Pro platform. For example, Quividi is making a cloud-based platform for customer data analysis. A dedicated API will allow even more corporate customers to join the platform.
SmartThings Pro will be gradually rolled out to global markets including North America and South Korea.
