ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (CRAB) is offering inclusive sailing activities in the Autumn of 2024. CRAB has been providing accessible sailing activities to people with disabilities and children for over 30 years. Although sailing is a skill, it’s also a hobby that any adult or child can quickly learn.
The Family Sails experience will offer the opportunity for people of all ages to learn how to sail in a friendly environment. Bring your kids and grandchildren to show them the ropes in a stress-free environment.
People with disabilities and their caregivers are also encouraged to attend this activity, as sailing is an activity everybody can learn, and the sailboats are designed to accommodate everyone.
Not only is the Family Sails program a useful learning tool, but it’s also a free activity that you can use to add excitement to the season. You’ll have the opportunity to sail in a beautiful environment, and a trained crew will guide you and your family across the water.
Family Sails are currently available on four dates in September and October, but the Visit Annapolis website states, “Other opportunities may be available.” The current dates include September 15th, September 26th, October 17th, and October 20th.
The event will take place at CRAB’s building, which is located at 7040 Bembe Beach Road, Annapolis, MD 21403. You can direct any inquiries to info@crabsailing.org or call 410-266-5722 to speak to a CRAB representative.
You can register for the Family Sails event on the Chesapeake Bay Accessible Boating website.
