
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — In the early hours of August 17, 2024, at approximately 1:09 a.m., fire and rescue personnel were dispatched to a house fire on the 4900 block of Sandy Point Road.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a two-story home engulfed in heavy flames concentrated in the garage and parts of the attic.

Firefighters from the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department Engine 22 initiated the fire attack in the garage before advancing to the second floor to combat the attic fire. Units from Calvert and Charles Counties soon arrived to provide additional support.
Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the blaze under control. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal has been called to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire.
