SUITLAND, Md. – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Gun Crimes Unit identified and arrested a suspect in connection with a recent non-contact shooting in Suitland. The suspect is 23-year-old Nicholas Norris of Suitland.
On July 5, 2024, at approximately 6:25 am, officers responded to a business in the 5100 block of Auth Road for a reported shooting. Officers spoke with the victim who advised that the suspect shot at him while attempting to steal an item. The victim was not injured.
During the investigation, detectives identified the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant charging Norris with attempted first and second degree murder and related charges. He was taken into custody on July 12, 2024. Investigators then obtained a search warrant for his home. Detectives recovered several firearms, firearms parts and equipment for manufacturing firearms.
