Phillip Alvin Wood, 80, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on September 3, 2024. Born on February 1, 1944, in Leonardtown, MD, one of four children born to Joseph Schmit Wood and Eleanor Gass Wood.
Phillip married his beloved wife, Gloria in 1963. Together they had 3 children, Gary, Glen, and Kevin. Phillip and Gloria along with their 3 sons owned and operated Wood’s Produce stand in Charlotte Hall, MD for 55 years.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Gloria of 61 years, sons Glen (Lisa) and Kevin (Tina), and sister Elaine Wheeler of Callaway, MD, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog Princess.
He is preceded in death by his son Gary, grandson Joseph, and brothers Buck Wood, and Freddie Wood.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Hospice nurses for their kindness and care during this time.
A celebration of life is September 7, 2024, at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with services beginning at 11:00 with Reverend Joe Orlando. Interment to follow at Charles Memorial Gardens 26325 Point Lookout Road, Leonardtown, MD.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Wood, Jr. (KJ), Mike Wathen, Louis Collins, Jerry Burch, David Downs, and Paul Branan.
