Introduction and specs
The stylish Oppo Reno12 series has made its European debut, and the Reno12 Pro is here for review. Oppo has focused more on aesthetics, and the target audience is mostly the young and social media content creators.
This is evident by the “two portrait” cameras, as marketed by Oppo, as well as the slick design. The handset is also pretty light and compact, as far as 6.7-inch smartphones go.
Oppo refers to the secondary 2x zoom camera and the selfie cameras as “portrait cameras” and we can see why. The 50MP zoom camera has a wide aperture and a decent sensor, while the front-facing unit employs the same 50MP sensor but with a wider 21mm focal length and autofocus. Both units are aided by AI-powered optimizations specifically tailored for portrait shooting.

Additionally, Oppo has worked closely with MediaTek to further optimize the Dimensity 7300 SoC, hence why it’s called Dimensity 7300-Energy. This iteration of the chipset is supposed to include some under-the-hood optimizations for better energy efficiency.
Surprisingly, the Reno12 series is one of the few options with a microSD card slot out there, along with an IR blaster.
The Reno12 Pro also has a nice display – 6.7″ with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support, while 80W fast charging will probably save you from a dead battery after just 15-20 minutes.

Unboxing the Oppo Reno12 Pro
The Reno12 Pro comes in a modest retail box containing only a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging and data transfer and, even though the device supports SuperVOOC at up to 80W.
Oppo said that the Indian market gets the appropriate charger in the box, though.
