The motorist allegedly drove into the cyclist near Harmon Avenue and La Mar Circle in Las Vegas.

The driver then fled from the area which is east of the Strip, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).

The person on the bicycle suffered serious head injuries. The cyclist was rushed to University Medical Center. The victim died while undergoing treatment.

Police were alerted about the accident at approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Officers later arrested the unnamed driver after advanced technology was used to locate the vehicle, according to Las Vegas TV station KVVU. The driver was found in a parking lot.

The motorist was heading eastbound when the crash took place, KVVU reported.

The deadly accident caused delays for motorists traveling on Harmon Avenue.

The name of the victim has yet to be released. The cyclist is likely to undergo an autopsy.

Pedestrian Robbed Outside of Casino

A person was held up on Thursday near Maryland’s MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino on Saturday.

The bandit approached the victim and pulled out a rifle, according to a local news report. The suspect then stole the person’s possessions. It appears no one was injured during the robbery.

The Prince George’s County Police Department was alerted, according to the Shore News Network, a Maryland news outlet.

Officers were searching for the suspect or suspects over the weekend.

It’s likely officers will review footage from the casino’s surveillance cameras to help identify the robber.

Police didn’t detail the items stolen from the victim. Nor did officers say if the robber stole any cash.
