MECHANICSVILLE, Md. – Construction for the brand new Snow Hill Park playground will begin on Monday, July 1, 2024, according to St. Mary’s County Recreation and Parks. The park will remain open during construction with the projected expected to last approximately three weeks.
The playground will be fully accessible and will feature a variety of play components with separate age areas for two to five-year-olds and five to twelve-year-olds. The playground will feature swings, platforms, and slides, along with music, nature sounds, animals, and bug-themed interactive panels.
The playground will be located between the two largest trees on the waterfront area for optimal shading. It will also feature three seating areas in three separate corners with two seats each along with shade structures. The pavilion next to the playground will include nine picnic tables.
