DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle on Saturday in the unincorporated section of District Heights. The deceased rider is 35-year-old Johnathan Harkness of District Heights.
On June 15, 2024, at approximately 3:35 am, officers responded to Pennsylvania Avenue near Walters Lane for the report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan. Once on scene, officers located the rider in the roadway. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle and the sedan collided in the southbound lanes of Pennsylvania Avenue. The driver of the sedan was not injured and remained on the scene.
