Maryland women’s cross country’s Rose Coats and Eva Rogers were both granted Big Ten weekly honors following their performances in the Salisbury Fall Classic last Saturday. The awards were announced Wednesday.
Coats took home Big Ten Runner of the Week while Rogers was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week. Coats, a sophomore, helped lead Maryland to a win Saturday, leading the field of 116 runners with a time of 20:22.3. It was both a personal-best time in a 6K and the first individual win of her career.
Meanwhile, Rogers slotted in just behind Coats, placing second overall in her first collegiate race with a time of 20:59.2.
