MM 9.13: Maryland women’s golf’s Nicha Kanpai named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

Sophomore Nicha Kanpai was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week on Thursday, marking the second time in her collegiate career she’s earned the honor.

Kanpai claimed the individual title at the Cougar Classic earlier in the week, finishing with a score of 206 (70-70-66), seven strokes under par. The Terps tied for ninth out of 17 teams in the event.

Kanpai, who has averaged 72.5 over her Maryland career, was also one of three Terps named to the Big Ten Golfers to Watch list on Thursday.
