Maryland field hockey announced its fall 2024 schedule on Tuesday, featuring matchups against some of the best programs in the country.
As a result, the Terps’ schedule is among the toughest in the nation, featuring 11 opponents ranked in the final 2023 coaches poll, including seven teams in the top 10. Maryland will also host the Big Ten Tournament from Nov. 6-10.
The season kicks off at home with matches against Louisville (Aug. 30) and Drexel (Sept. 1). The team will then participate in the 9th annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge, facing Boston College (Sept. 6) and Duke (Sept. 8).
In the 28th annual Terrapin Invitational, Maryland will compete against Virginia (Sept. 13) and Lock Haven (Sept. 15). Following the invitational, the Terps will confront five consecutive Big Ten opponents: Rutgers (Sept. 20), Northwestern (Sept. 27), Indiana (Oct. 4), Iowa (Oct. 6) and Michigan State (Oct. 11).
Maryland’s final six games of the season present a significant challenge, with matches against conference champion American (Oct. 14), Ohio State (Oct. 18), Michigan (Oct. 20), Princeton (Oct. 25), Richmond (Oct. 27) and 2022 NCAA finalist Penn State (Nov. 1).
