Mike Heslin, an actor who most recently appeared on Taylor Sheridan‘s Paramount+ series Lioness and in the Lifetime movie The Holiday Proposal, has died. He was 30.
Heslin’s husband, Scotty Dynamo (né Nicholas James Wilson) shared the tragic news Friday on Instagram. Heslin died on July 2 following “an unexpected cardiac event after a week-long battle in the hospital.”
“Michael was young, in perfect health, and the doctors have no explanation for what happened,” Dynamo wrote in his lengthy caption accompanied by a series of Heslin photos. “Michael was brilliant, selfless, talented, and a real-life guardian angel. He single-handedly carried me through multiple rounds of cancer. He was the first person everyone would call to share good news with, and he was the perfect person to call if they needed a shoulder to lean on or the best advice.”
Heslin is being remembered as “the sweetest, most caring, and loving man on earth” who “brought out the absolute best in everyone who had the pleasure to cross paths with him.”
In the heartbreaking caption, Dynamo shared that just last week the couple was “in the early stages of starting a family and would regularly share our favorite baby names for our future kids.”
Heslin’s sudden death came just three weeks shy of his 31st birthday and four months shy of the couple celebrating their first wedding anniversary.
Heslin appeared in two episodes of the spy thriller Special Ops: Lioness, starring Zoe Saldaña. Heslin played the role of Polo in season 1 of the Paramount+ series. His other TV credits include In Their Shoes: A Journey Into Homelessness and Younger.
Heslin’s friends set up a GoFundMe to help cover his funeral and hospital costs.
