Mr.Clayton Bump is a 98 year old US Navy Veteran/Seaman who served in World War II on the USS Bogue from 1944-1946. He first enlisted with the Navy at age 17 and was quickly challenged. “His listed accolades include: American Theater Medal, European Theater Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, Victory Medal, and a Presidential Unit 1 Star.”

Bump is currently a resident of the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, and “spends his time with his walker walking up and down the halls, attending musical entertainment in-house where he enjoys dancing with the staff, as well as classic car shows hosted by Cruisin’ Southern Maryland.”

Bump’s first love though- being Harley Bikes, it only seemed fitting to hold a meet and greet at the Harley Davidson Dealership. “Clayton fondly remembers riding his Harley through the backroads around Vermont and Connecticut and allowed him to connect with his greatest love-his wife, together they rode motorcycles everywhere.”

“Clayton is proud to be a part of a long line of military- his grandfather and father served and he is the current patriarch of a continued Navy family where his son, Robert (retired) and his grand-daughter currently serve.”

“This special mission is a part of Pruitt Health’s Mission on Commitment to Caring (C2C) Pruitt Health assumed the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in June 2023 and has been making instrumental strides in providing top quality care for residents asking “If you could anything in the world- What would you do? – Clayton told us ‘To ride a Harley Again’ and since then we’ve been boots on the ground to make it happen- The Keepers of Maryland MC has been absolutely instrumental in their arrangements to make this happen.”
