Maryland Beaches Lit Up With Excitement During The Ocean City Air Show

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Air Dot Show Tour performed in Ocean City, Maryland last weekend. Colorful trails lit up the clear sky as airplanes and jets of all types flew over the beaches of Maryland. Although the air show’s primary destination was Ocean City, the performance could be partially seen from many other Maryland beaches.

A Baynet staff attended the air show in Ocean City, and we have original photos to share.

Many of the performers flew only a few hundred feet from the ground, eliciting excitement from crowds on the beach, boardwalk, and the surrounding city. Vacationers and residents alike watched in awe as the aircraft flew upside down, sideways, and looped around the sky.

One of the most notable events in the air show, the Italian Air Force Frecce Tricolori, made a 30-minute appearance in the United States for the first time in 30 years. They left colorful trails consisting of white, green, and red colors which received awe-inspiring praise from onlookers.

Other notable aircraft featured in the Air Dot Show performances include the F-22 Raptor, the A-10 Thunderbolt II, the C-17 Globemaster III, the B-25 Bomber, and the E/A-18 Growler. The West Point Parachute Team dropped from the sky as well.

Ocean City is one of the liveliest places in Maryland during the summer, and the Air Dot Show acted as the perfect performance to finish out the 2024 beach season with a bang. Throughout August, the Air Dot Show Tour also performed in New York City, Washington DC, and Rhode Island.
